Some new stuff be happenin’
Life at the moment is pretty crazy. I’m getting ready to play bass for “Always Patsy Cline” A musical about the music and the life of Patsy Cline at Manoa Valley Theatre. Under normal circumstances, I’m the sound designer with MVT but for this one they’re letting me out of the booth and on stage. I’m a little nervous about playing but I feel good about my abilities. So that’s adding to my lack of sleep at the moment. it’s good fun though so I don’t mind too much.
Also I’m starting to shift my photography a little and looking at going more into glamour photography than the artistic stuff. I’ve had a great deal of fun with it and I feel like I need to start trying my hand at a different style. The main reason is that I’m starting to think about shooting for Zivity.com and it seems that the glamour shots seem like they do better on that site than the artistic nudes. SO when I’m shooting for Zivity I’d like to stick with the glamour type of photography and then for my site I’ll continue in the artistic vein.
So that’s what’s happening at the moment. Stay tuned.
Newest Illustration
I just started this one last night. I was trying to use a different technique than I’ve used before. The idea was to only use shading in this one. No lines. I feel that I’m close to having it where I want but I’m not sure if I like this one. I’m thinking about doing another with the same pose using the same techniques as I used before. just to see what the difference really is.
New drawing…
About a week ago I finished a drawing based on a photo I had shot at the end of July. I let it sit on the wall for a week just to make sure I was officially done. I occasionally walk by it and do some touch-ups or will just stare at it for while. Over the past week I looked at it but didn’t make any changes. So tonight I decided that I was done with that one and I got right to work on a new drawing. This time the photo I’m drawing from is from a shoot I did on Aug. 6. On all my past drawings I start out drawing a rough outline that will be covered up later. This time I want to challenge myself a little. So I’ll be drawing the image using only shading techniques… the only lines I will use are shaded lines. we’ll see how it works out.
